There is one kind of growth that stops when you are oh-so-many, actually-quite-a-few years old. It's something akin to stretching, and, all told, really not that important at all—all it takes is food and water (miracles in their own right, of course and some patience and time. Very well. But when we stop this slow falling into the sky, when our bones decide they've had their fill and that the real estate in your body is really spoken for quite enough, there begins another growth—or rather, the opportunity for growth. The equation for this entails something more—you see, the recipe calls for continual wonder and the capacity for love. Without wonder, without curiosity, amazement, the feeling that everything we hear and see and focus on pulls at us like the gravity of a beautiful mystery like a very star, we recede into ourselves—without love overwing, the star of our spirit...goes out.
