ACT II, SCENE V - Loss

Transcription
stage direction: it is night
Enter ——————, alone
—————-: Even the moon has turned its face from me tonight, the sun has fled, the stars seem farther for comfort—their own. I have heard that the world congregates for joy, while dealing double with its pitch satin sister, sorrow. Yes....but loss crouches us low, alone, even in a crowded room So, wherefore should I feel panging bother in my leaky spleen? Loss is; it should not be denied. It should be honored and given its time as we find space in the concealing dark to leave behind what must depart—so do we hail with tearful kisses the dark side of the moon, and so, at last, do we move on toward the easterly sun.
