Fast, Mean, & Ugly

Transcription
When they say you're ugly, when they call you names and tell you to put away your face...or get another one—as if there was a face store or time for something like plastic surgery, (plastic should be recycled, not sewn inside you!),
You do one of two things—you either become mean, mugging and lugging your hateful looks this way and that with the intent to kill (and who could blame you?),
Or, you become fast—fast on your feet to dominate on the field of sports,. fast of tongue, darting around on the mic or the track or just the conversation like a silver bullet train or an actual bullet fired from the brain—did you know that words could kill?
And by God, you'll go far, far enough from the crowd that they all lose sight, call you beautiful...
But then, when your vantage is assured you'll see a certain side of the world and realize that you were never the ugly one at all...
